Membership

Membership of the Athenaeum Club Hobart is recognised as a very prestigious membership and thus it is not simply a matter of application and fee payment.

Membership Proposals:

The method of proposal is for an existing Member to approach the General Manager to obtain a “Membership Information Form”. This is completed by the Proposer with details of the Candidate.

The completed form is then presented to the Membership Committee.

If agreed upon by the Membership Committee, the form is then presented to a full General Committee Meeting. If approved to this stage, a Seconder is sought out and the candidate can then be approached.

A completed “Nomination of Candidate for Membership” form is then presented to the General Manager which is placed upon the General Notice Board for viewing by the General Membership.

Should anyone have a reason to object to the Candidate’s Nomination, they are required to advise the General Manager who will then take the objection to the next General Committee Meeting.

If there are no objections, after 14 days display upon the Notice Board, the Candidate is invited to join by the President and General Manager.
